During the hour and a half trip, lunch and a complimentary cocktail will be served.
Upon arrival you will be transferred to your Spanish colonial-style bungalow by a Casa Corcovado representative. Day 3. CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK TOUR (B, L, D). After breakfast served at the Tent Camp, a 25 minute boat ride will take you to the San Pedrillo ranger station in the northern most part of the Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica. Here you will experience a full day in the Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica, taking in the lush and thick rainforest. The beauty of the Corcovado National Park is breathtaking. View the fascinating abundant wildlife and enjoy the rich foliage.
For the next hour a Costa Rica local naturalist guide will lead you on a walk on the beach. The Costa Rica beach walk will lead the tour group to the Rio Pargo, a well-groomed forest trail filled with numerous large primary growth trees saturated with epiphytic plants, such as bromeliads, ferns and orchids. The Costa Rica rainforest canopy generates a refreshing environment for hiking. The quiet Costa Rica jungle is sporadically interrupted with the screech of scarlet macaws, the rustle of agoutis in the bush and the deep bark of howler monkeys. Look up and you will see sloths making their slow way on the tree branches overhead.
Lunch will be served at midday on the Llorona beach under the shade of a mango tree, while enjoying the rolling surf and the breaking of each wave. After resting from the morning's expedition, the next adventure is a walk up the San Pedrillo River. Other residents to look for are: the howler, spider and squirrel monkey, white-faced capuchin, jaguars, ocelots, cougars, giant anteaters and macaws. The park is home for all endangered species. The brilliant colors displayed against the green of the forest will astound you. All this leads to a Costa Rica rainforest waterfall. This is a great place for a cool dip. In late afternoon you will board the water craft and return to the Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge.
Day 4. CANO ISLAND PARK TOUR: Nature lovers, snorkelers, divers and hikers have an extraordinary encounter at the Caño Island, Costa Rica. Trails on the island will lead you to the Indian burial sites. Incredible hand carved and perfectly rounded stone spheres have been found here showing evidence of the Caño Island’s history. These spheres still amaze archeologists of how these stones could have been made. Red snapper barracuda, white-tipped shark, dog-toothed snapper, and other varieties of rays are the marine species awaiting the snorkeling and diving bunch while on their Costa Rica vacation. They will be able to indulge in a crystal-clear underwater playfield of seven separate dive sites of cliffs, caves and canyons.
