Desafio Adventure Company Volcano Jungle Beach Adventure Tour
The Desafio Adventure Company Volcano Jungle Beach Week long Adventure Tour is an amazing way to see highlighted parts of Costa Rica. This adventure can be customized to meet your levels of adventure and your budget.
On this tour you will be able to visit the Arenal Volcano, experience the jungle and cloud forests of Monteverde and the beaches of Playa Samara and Carrillo.
Day 1
You will start with a pick up by private shuttle from the airport in San Jose. You will travel from San Jose to la Fortuna which will take about three hours. You will drive through the rainforest, over hills and through mountainous valleys. You will be sure to see many native wildlife along the way.
You will arrive at La Fortuna, at the base of the incredible Arenal Volcano.
Day 2
Today is when your adventure will really begin! You will spend the day in la Fortuna and will have the choice of one of the three activities:

Rafting on amazing class 2-3 Río Balsa

Rafting the Rio Balsa class 3-4 or
-
Stand Up Paddling on Lake Arenal
You will enjoy lunch which is included in your tour and then have time to go shopping and exploring in the quaint city of La Fortuna. You will enjoy dinner at the restaurant of your choice (not included) and we will be happy to provide you with suggestions, reviews and discounts at our favorite places.
Day 3
Today you will remain in the awesome town of La Fortuna and will begin to see it’s wild side. You will have your choice of one of two activities today:

Lost Canyon Adventures: This is your opportunity to GO BIG! If you are up to trying something new and different, unique and over the top when it comes to adventure, Lost Canyon Adventures is for you! You will rappel, downclimb and hike along a series of eight amazing tropical waterfalls - two of which are over 200ft high! You will then enjoy an amazing dinner at the Lost Canyon Café – an all-you-can-eat, natural food buffet.

Community Culture Conservation: The Desafío Community, Culture and Conservation tour is the perfect way to get to know the native culture and desires of Costa Rica. You will have the opportunity to have direct contact with some of the promising projects happening in the La Fortuna área and all around Costa Rica.
You will end your adventurous day with a relaxing trip to a local hot springs resort for a wonderful buffet dinner.
Day 4
Day four will begin with a relaxing horseback ride from the town of La Fortuna along Arenal Lake and into the town of Rio Chiquito. From Rio Chiquito we will then transport you to Monteverde, a quiet little town that resides in the cloud forest.
From Monteverde, you will take mountain bikes and ride them along Arenal Lake. Once you are done with your bike ride, you will take a taxi boat ride to see highlighted scenic areas of beautiful Monteverde.
You will then head up into the mountains into the cloud forest – so bring yourself a jacket because it can get cold up there, especially at night. Once you arrive, you will have some free time to shop, and explore the town. Monteverde has a lot to offer including a bat jungle, local artist’s galleries, a butterfly garden, serpentarium, and much more!
Enjoy dinner on your own, but please ask us for recommendations! We will be happy to let you know suggestions that would appeal to your taste buds.
Day 5
Today you will be given a choice of two activities. Choice number one, a guided tour of the Cloud Forest Reserve. Choice number two: An amazing Zip Line Canopy Tour in Monteverde.
Once you complete your first activity of the day, you will be transported via private transport, or a tourist shuttle to the amazing coast of Costa Rica. You will go to your choice of either Playa Carrillo or Playa Samara beaches. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the beach, watch the sunset and enjoy cocktails on the amazing white sands of the Costa Rica shoreline.
Day 6
Today you will get to spend all day at the beach! You will be at Samara beach and will have your choice of the following activities:
Day 7
Today you will remain at the beach of Samara and will enjoy resting and relaxing on the beach. Relax and catch some rays. Explore the coast and enjoy some of the activities the beach has to offer.
Day 8
Today is probably the worst day of the entire trip. It’s the day you will say goodbye to Costa Rica. You will be transported from your hotel to the city airport in San Jose. It’s sadly back to reality!
