Day 2. CORCOVADO TENT CAMP: After the hotel serves breakfast, you will be taken to a Costa Rica airport for a domestic flight to Drake Bay. A Greenway Tent Camp representative will meet you and drive you to the lodge. The Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp has a reputation of providing comfortable and affordable Costa Rica vacations that offers Costa Rica tours to the most beautiful places on earth such as; the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. The lodge is located just southwest of Drake Bay on the western side of the Osa Peninsula. The Camp is close to the Caño Island Biological Reserve and Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica.
The National Geographic Society has stated that the Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica is "one of the most biologically intense places on Earth!" Enjoy the best of both worlds, a beautiful beach and a tropical wilderness. The Corcovado Nation al Park is a paradise that houses the Spider, Howler and White-faced Monkeys. There are over 350 species of birds that include Toucans, Trogons Scarlet, Macaws and hummingbirds. Our beautiful flowers attract numerous species of butterflies and the famous Morpho Butterfly
Explore one of the most gorgeous locations in Costa Rica; the Osa Peninsula. The Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp of Costa Rica offers you this comfortable and affordable opportunity to explore this Costa Rica location. The Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica is located southwest of Drake Bay so it is just a 10 minute boat ride. The Luxury Tent Camp is a quick boat ride from the Cano Island Biological Reserve and Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica.
The yellow sand beaches of Caletas are located by the Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp. The camp also borders a natural swim pond that is filled by a fresh water stream before it empties into the ocean. Follow the sound of rushing water and you will find a water fall upstream.
Sit on the chairs of the front deck by your full-size tent that the CorcovadoTent Camp provides and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean! A large tarp covers the tents to protect them from the tropic rain and sun. A healthy, delicious and balanced dinner of International Cuisine will be provided. After dinner you will sleep soundly on your wood-frame bed.
Day 3. CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK TOUR: After a healthy breakfast at the Corcovado Tent Camp in Costa Rica, get ready for a full day of breathtaking beauty in the Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica. The rainforest is lavished with foliage and exotic wildlife. There will be a 25-minute boat ride to the San Pedrillo Station, the northernmost ranger station of Corcovado National Park.
The Costa Rica naturalist guide will lead you on an hour walk along the beach. The beach shore leads to a forest trail up the Rio Pargo. You will enjoy hiking the well-groomed trails because the rainforest canopy provides shelter to keep the trail cool. The jungle is a quiet place so the shrieks of the scarlet macaws, the deep bark of the howler monkey and the scurry of the agoutis in the bush can be heard. Sloths can be seen making their way slowly among the branches. Deep green foliage, bromeliads orchids, enormous primary growth trees dripping with epiphytic plants, can be seen in the Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica.
Lunch will be served at midday on the Llorona beach under the shade of a mango tree, while enjoying the rolling surf and the breaking of each wave. After resting from the morning's expedition, the next adventure is a walk up the San Pedrillo River. Look for the residents of the river such as the Jesus Christ lizards and Kingfishers, small wildlife and exotic birds. Other residents to look for are: the howler, spider and squirrel monkey, white-faced capuchin, jaguars, ocelots, cougars, giant anteaters and macaws. The brilliant colors displayed against the green of the forest will astound you. The park is home for all endangered species. The trail leads to a Costa Rica rainforest waterfall. This is a great place for a cool dip. In late afternoon you will board the water craft and return to the Corcovado Tent Camp, Costa Rica.
Day 4. CANO ISLAND PARK TOUR: Nature lovers, snorkelers, divers and hikers have an extraordinary encounter at the Caño Island, Costa Rica. This island is around 8 miles off the coast of the Osa Peninsula. The boat ride to the Caño Island, Costa Rica is an experience in itself. This ride gives you the opportunity to witness first hand fisherman fishing for tuna and wahoo and watch dolphins swim and search for whales migrating. Caño Island looks like a dark green emerald, because of the densely forest interior and soaring coastal cliffs making it the most dramatic landmass in the Costa Rica area.
The Caño Island has an indigenous pre-Columbian burial ground that has designated it as a protected biological and archeological reserve. Trails on the island will lead you to the Indian burial sites. Incredible hand carved and perfectly rounded stone spheres have been found here showing evidence of the Caño Island’s history. These spheres still amaze archeologists of how these stones could have been made.
Red snapper barracuda, white-tipped shark, dog-toothed snapper, and other varieties of rays are the marine species awaiting the snorkeling and diving bunch while on their Costa Rica vacation. They will be able to indulge in a crystal-clear underwater playfield of seven separate dive sites of cliffs, caves and canyons. Schools of colorful tropical fish are a treat for those that love to snorkel. Five platforms of low reefs on the Caño Island will be found here. A habitat of over a dozen species of coral growth while housing a countless number of lobsters, sea urchins and giant conchs are also a spectacular sight to see.
Under the shade of an almond tree lunch will be served on the Costa Rica beach. Guests will then be free to create their own experience by playing a friendly game of beach volleyball, diving or snorkeling, go for another round of swimming, explore the island’s burial sites on self-guided trails, or relax under the sun on the beach. The abundant bird and marine life, the emerald island, crystal-clear water, and beach coves make this part of your Costa Rica vacation a memory you will never forget.
