Desafio's Mountain Bike Tour Biking Between La Fortuna and Monteverde

If you are one who loves to ride mountain bikes why not take the scenic route up to Monteverde and create your own adventure?

You will have two riding options, please choose according to your adventure level:

You will cover 15-miles of breath-taking land. Includes a boat ride across the Lake Arenal to the mid-way point.

Lake Arenal is a man-made lake. It is the second-largest lake in Central America. There are several bridge-less river crossings that allow you to get from one side to the other by land.

You will see a combination of rainforest, farmland and photographic views of Lake Arenal and the Arenal Volcano.

Your eagle-eyed bike guide will help point out some of the local wildlife indigenous to the area. Expect to see many different forms of wildlife such as wild boar, sloths, toucans; oropendolas and iguanas.

Upon your arrival to Río Chiquito, you will be reunited with your belongings and Freddy, our driver, will drive you in his mini-van the remaining 1.5-hours up the steep, gravel roads to your hotel in Monteverde.

Please note that this is a truly adventurous ride – the terrain is rugged, the scenery is breathtaking. This is the best way to travel between La Fortuna and Costa Rica if adventure is your goal.
