Lost Canyon Adventures Canyoneering by Desafio is a unique, multi-sport adventure that combines rappelling, down-climbing and river tracing in a deep, tropical canyon. The Lost Canyon Adventure is undoubtedly the experience of a lifetime! Very few have had the privilege to roam this terrain!
Just imagine, hiking in the midst of a thick rain forest to find yourself at the top of a magical canyon that is full of huge tropical waterfalls. You will find amazing surprises each step of the way on this Lost Canyon Adventures Canyoneering Tour.
Step back in time! I'm sure you’ve heard about the famous back roads of Costa Rica.
You’ll start your tour off by doing an exciting 4x4 off-road adventure and you will climb about 15 minutes up until you reach a quiet mountainside community.
Prepare to get wet! You will receive a thorough safety walk through given by your experienced guides to explain many important rappelling and down-climbing techniques. You will then be provided with high-quality technical climbing gear including a harness, helmet, gloves. You will have the opportunity to practice your first descent on a mini 15-ft waterfall, to help make you a comfortable climber.
Hold Your Breath! Before you know it, you will find yourself on a sturdy, government-approved platform looking down into the depths of a 150 foot massive waterfall. you will then begin your rappelling descent for the thrill of a lifetime! You will then wind your way along the river bed by down-climbing and rappelling a series of six waterfalls that will slowly get bigger and… BIGGER!
Last - BUT Certainly NOT Least! You will witness the biggest and most-exciting waterfall as you descend for the last time , and you’ll finish with a 200ft-guided-rappel at the end!
The hike back up to the top will take you about 10 minutes, but there is no hurry. Please, take your time and enjoy the intense rainforest that surrounds you! Once you reach the top, you’ll be at our Canyon House where you are free to change into dry clothes and then sit down to your best meal in Costa Rica!
Recommended for ages 13-55 in good physical condition. Special arrangements can be made for children between 10 and 13 years at an additional cost. Private trips available.
